The ICX-AlphaCom Active Recording Interface is a licensed feature. When enabled, a SIP call session is set up for each conversation which needs to be recorded to a compatible Network Audio Recorder. The call session includes metadata about the parties in the conversation and the conversation type – conversation, group/all call, conference. This mode of operation allows for the Network Audio Recorder to be located anywhere in the IP network, and even to receive call recording data from multiple ICX-AlphaCom audio servers at the same time.
Stations that need to be recorded are selected in the ICX-AlphaCom audio server. The selection criteria are: Incoming Calls and Outgoing Calls for each station; Simplex and Duplex Conferences for each conference; All/Group Calls and AlphaNet Calls for each group. This allows for a very precise definition of each call type that is to be recorded and also limits the number of required licenses to a minimum. For instance, in a system with few master stations and many substations, the recording only needs to be selected for the master stations – incoming and outgoing – and licenses are then only required for the master stations.
